Abdul is a doctor who spent his career working to improve Michigan’s healthcare system. Abdul believes no one should go bankrupt because they or a loved one gets sick. He has a detailed plan to bring down the cost of healthcare in Michigan, expand access to insurance and Medicare and stop hospitals and clinics from closing across our state. 

Abdul is supported by leaders from every corner of Michigan. He is backed by unions representing teachers, nurses, and autoworkers. Abdul was born and raised in Michigan. He was captain of his high school football team and graduated from the University of Michigan. He’s a card-carrying union member raising his two daughters here with his wife, Sarah.
